Ethernet Data Collection Device - Specification

This specification if for a Data Collection Device which connects to an existing
Ethernet cabling system. It provides the operator with a 4 line LCD display,
a keypad and a barcode reader input.
The unit is based around a touch sensitive panel (7.4 inches diagonal) that
is mounted as the largest side of a plastic box. The top edge of this box will
also have a row of interface sockets: a power socket, a 9 way D type serial
connector, a 10BaseT Ethernet socket and an optional digital I/O socket for
direct connection to external hardware devices.
Since a touch panel is used it can be re-configured to suit various customer
requirements. The LCD display features the ability to implement a 20 line scrolling
region, appearing within 3 lines of the display, without needing to contact
the host computer.

- 2 Digital Outputs - Interlock and Alarm outputs.
- IP software for connection to server computer (ARP, ICMP Echo (Ping) UDP).
- External Power Supply (Optional Power over CAT-5 cabling).
- Internal Buzzer
- HTTP Server Software for Remote monitoring/control (TCP, HTTP).
