For over seven years I have been helping with the development of a MIS system for the Printing
Industry called 'Keren'. Over the last couple of years I have assisted with the conversion of
this system from a simple proprietary database to Oracle. During the past year I have added a
Windows interface to this character based product using a combination of C++ Builder and Delphi.
For nearly ten years I have been developing software for Paxdata's range of Bridge and Router products.
Over the last 2 years I have written the software to drive the companies new range of Voice over IP
products (VIPER). I am currently developing the DSL interface for this range of Routers. I also developed
the companies Web Site.
Three years ago I wrote a protection system for the Joint European Torus based in Abingdon. This
software, running on an array of DSPs, monitors hundreds of signals, thousands of times a second,
looking for anomalies. When a problem is detected the reactor can be shut down before it is
damaged. Since writing this software I have been providing maintenance and support for this system.
While working at JET I also developed some real time control software, also running on DSPs,
that controlled the injection of gas into the Torus, in such a way as to keep the plasma stable. I
also introduced the use of Tk/TCL to the company for the production of visual displays.
